Meanings of NGO

Non Governmental Organization are those organizations which are autonomous and working in their own financial support.They are free from government.These organizations are working for the welfare of the community.They are working for poor,marginalized,backward people.So,there organizations which are established for the alleviation of poverty welfare of poor people are calledc NGO's. 
                 Generally, NGO's are working in different sectors like education,health,social security,girls trafficking,environment conservation, social development,human rights,women rights,child rights,infrastructure development etc.

Objectives of NGO's

1. To improve the living standard of poor and marginalized people.
2. To maintain social justice and equality
3. Women empowerment
4. For the social change in the society
5. To establish and maintain social or society welfare oriented state
6. To co-operate and assist government in development activities
7. To co-operate with different organization while formulating policy and strategies
8. To play effective role in development process

Features of NGO's

1. Voluntary

A voluntary is a group of individuals who voluntarily enter into the field of society to work together for a purpose.Voluntary mean done or brought about of one's own will.Voluntary implies freedom and spontaneity or choice or action without external compulsion.In most of the cases of formalities are necessary to start a membership in voluntary works.

2. Non-Profit Oriented

There are so many kinds of people are live in rural society. They have their different lifestyle and living standard. NGO's have improve their living standard in free of cost. They do not have any purpose of profit in social works so it is known as Non-Profit Oriented.

3. Independent

NGO's have doing different kinds of program with independently in rural areas.They have their own rules and regulation in their own field. They have making a good policy in their own family and they have provide the facilities within their own capacity.

4. Legal status

NGO's are established as a legal form. They helps to develop the rural area and their living standard.They are verified by government and they are forms of legal organization in the sectors of development of rural area and others.

5. Flexible

NGO's are flexible organization.They have help people who are suffering from different kinds of problems.They have flexibility in their organization and works. They do not getting irritated to do works in the field of all kinds of developments and and improve their living standard.

6. Quicker in Decision Making

Decision making power is the most important for many kinds of organization. NGO's have the capacity of quick decision making because of their own rules and regulation and their own policy. They are free to do any kinds of developmental works quickly.

7. Freedom in Works

They have their own rules and regulation so, they are freedom to do any social welfare work. They have done different kinds of developmental works in rural areas. They have plan the works of development in important things to less important things. All rural people wants to develop their lifestyle. So, NGO's are freedom in work.

8. People Centered

NGO's have done so many kinds of developmental works in rural area and they all works are people centered. NGO's do not have done unnecessary developmental works and they have focus in most important things or basic needs of rural peoples.

9. Catalytic

NGO's is also the form of catalytic. They have empower the others people for the development of rural areas. They want to see the development of rural area and they have provide some knowledge about rural development for other and they have done work through others.
